We use the single form of a word when we talk about one thing.

We use the plural form of a word when we talk about more than one thing or zero things.

E.g. I have a car, but he has two cars.

For most words we add "s" when we want to express the plural.

for these words the ending sound is "z"

for most words ending in "c", "f", "k", "p", "t" or "th" the ending sound is "s"

For words ending in consonant + "y" we replace "y" with "ies"

if the word ends in vowel +"y" we just add "s"

Some words will end in "en" when changed to the plural.

E.g. One man. Two men. No men.(0)

E.g. One woman. Two women. No women.(0)

E.g. One ox. Two oxen. No oxen.(0)

Some words will stay the same when changed to the plural.

E.g. One deer. Two deer. No deer.(0)

E.g. One sheep. Two sheep. No sheep.(0)

E.g. One fish. Two fish. No fish.(0)

or also correct:

One fish. Two fishes. No fishes.(0)

Some words will change a lot when expressed as a plural.

E.g. One mouse. Two mice. No mice.(0)
